Making the decision to work with a sleep consultant is a very personal one. It’s important to feel comfortable with the individual you plan to work with. Here is what you can you expect working with me and my approach to sleep training.
Will my child cry?
Crying is your child’s way of protesting change, and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest. I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone, nor will I ask you to ignore their cries. We will work together to develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child.
How fast will I see results?
All children respond to sleep training differently. Measuring your child’s success will help show their progress and highlight areas for improvement. Most children will experience more consolidated stretches of sleep at night within 3-5 days of training. The quality, consistency and predictability of naps will take longer.
I’ll guide you every step of the way to make sure your child’s progress is on track.
When do babies sleep through the night?
All babies are unique in their sleep needs. Some sleep through the night at a young age and some take longer. If your baby is at lest 16 pounds and over 4 months of age you can consider dropping night feeds if it feels right for your family.
What type of follow up support do you provide?
All of my in-home and telephone consultation packages include 2 full weeks of follow up support to ensure that your child’s sleep plan remains appropriate for the sleep issues they are facing. This also allows me to provide guidance and support and to help you set future goals for continued progress.
One-on-one clients will be given access to a private on-line tracking tool that provides me with real-time information. We will also schedule four separate follow up phone calls to trouble shoot or plan for upcoming changes such as nap transitions and travel.
Why do your sleep training packages cost more than other consultants?
I take sleep seriously. I want you to reach your sleep goals. That doesn’t happen without having a committed person to guide you through the process. I offer a tremendous amount of follow up support to ensure that your questions are answered, your concerns addressed and your confidence raised. That means I spend more time with each client. See what other parents have said about working with me.
Do you support breastfeeding?
Absolutely. As a sleep consultant I support a family’s decision to breastfeed, bottle feed, or use a combination of both. Sleep plans are customized to align with your family’s needs and to ensure the continued health of your child.
Is your program customized?
Yes! Not all families are the same. We will work together closely to understand why your child is struggling with sleep and design a customized plan that is easy to implement and works for your family’s unique needs.
What happens if my child’s sleep habits regress after training?
Children aren’t robots. We can’t program them to sleep, but we can develop a stronger understanding of their sleep needs. My goal is make sure that you are able to navigate developmental milestones, travel, teething and illness to ensure that your child’s sleep stays on track.
How do I know if your services are right for me?
Book your complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This consultation will allow me to hear more about your child’s sleep issues, offer advice and help you to determine which service best meets your needs.
